BACKGROUND
Bundaberg Port Marina provides Coral Coast Visitors with a world-class facility. This busy marina is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage listed Fraser Island. They host many events and have 180 Marina Berths. They also have the largest dry storage complex in Queensland. The most popular port of entry into Australia, Bundaberg Port Marina welcomes visitors from across the globe.
Bundaberg Port Marina required a reliable wireless solution with low-light cameras and an easy-to-use VMS to manage their security effectively. Their existing CCTV solution had not been able to give them the coverage they needed due to the expansion of the marina. BPM were in need of a new state-of-the-art security solution with 50+ cameras to perfectly capture their entire complex. Implementing the ever reliable VMS Nx Witness enabled to merge all facets of video surveillance into one viewing location.
SOLUTIONS
The versatile and cost effective Hikvision DS-2CD2T85G1-I5 8MP Outdoor Bullet CCTV Camera produces a sharp and clear image in low-light conditions. This range has been tested to deliver 24/7 video surveillance and is powered by Darkfighter technology which provides excellent low-light performance.
The 4K AcuSense Strobe Light and Audible Warning Varifocal Bullet Network Camera provides high quality images with 8MP resolution. Powered by Hikvision’s Darkfighter technology, AcuSense Gen2 can deliver clear cut images even in the lowest lighting conditions. It can trigger the strobe light and alarm or allow customisable warnings to be played when an event takes place.
The 4K AcuSense Strobe Light and Audible Warning Fixed Turret Network Camera also provides excellent low-light performance with powered-by-DarkFighter technology and clear images against a strong back light due to 120 dB true WDR technology. The inclusion of two-way audio provides real-time security and deep learning.
In order to take advantage of the on-board Edge Analytics, Nx Witness is able to fully integrate with onboard AI to notify the Marina of issues in real time. The lightning fast VMS successfully monitors people, objects, and occurrences in the area. System operators can easily manage and monitor the area using key features such as the flexible grid interface, custom layouts, administration and live viewing in a single unified interface, forensic zoom windows and advanced PTZ controls. The Nx Witness Video wall add-on allows the customer to view several pre-configured displays. This allows them to work seamlessly whilst still maintaining the views of the key areas like fuel pumps and blind spots from the marina control room.
The Ubiquiti wireless links have been installed on poles and on buildings in the areas that have the best line of sight to the Marina control room. This allows for an uninterrupted connection and gives the cameras the best field of view for the system to provide the customer with comprehensive surveillance. BPM are very happy with the design and even offers the marina potential for expansion.
RESULTS
The Bundaberg Port Marina has had the bespoke security solution installed over six months ago. Since then, it has been vital in successfully detecting a number of incidents protecting the boats and amenities.
The Hikvision AI Cameras have been fundamental in offering Human Detection, Vehicle Identification, and Intruder Detection. Working seamlessly with the Nx VMS, they have identified people, vehicles, and intruders in real-time.
